Nothing on a Long Weekend

"What did you do this weekend?"

Typical question in the office on any given week, but especially after a long weekend. And much to my delight, I could answer "nothing." I did nothing!
After the hustle and bustle of the holidays (still sorta decompressing) and Spencer finally getting a weekend off (he's worked every weekend since Thanksgiving), a three whole days full of relaxing and together-time brought me greater joy than chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.
And that's saying something.

Sure, we met up with friends, checked out the Picasso exhibit at the Guggenheim, and made a failed attempt at suit-shopping at Macy's, but there was none of the "have-to-be-here's" and "have-to-do-this's" that have filled our time since kingdom come. We could have sat around on our butts and read til our eyes fell out. Oh wait - I actually did that.

Anyway, my point is that "nothing" is wonderful. "Nothing" should happen more often. "Nothing," when paired with doughnuts and tacos, is pure, unadulterated bliss.

So...what did you do this weekend?

We went to a primary activity this weekend that was...loud. Those kids are crazy.
